Alice Brandon is a graceful and beautiful girl living in Jacksonville,FL with her mom and step dad. She has the perfect life. That all changes when her mother dies and she has to go out and live with her uncle in Forks,WA.Bella Swan is Alice's cousin. Bella and Alice quickly become close and a bond is formed, the two become the other's best friend.
On their first day to school, Edward lays his eyes on Bella. Bella being Bella, she trips over her feet and Edward catches her before she could hit the ground.Alice sees this and convinces Bella to try and go out with him since he clearly likes her. Bella makes a joke out of the whole thing, but on the inside agrees with Alice.
Alice is more accepted with the kids at school and Bella slowly migrates towards the Cullens, which makes her more of an outcast.Everyone tells Alice that her cousin is weird and she needs to stay away from the Cullens. So Alice tries to convince Bella to stay away, but Bella has fallen in love with Edward. Edward convinces the Cullens to invite both the girls over, (only Bella knows their secret and she has to also hide it from Alice), and Bella and Edward go off and do their thing and Alice is left with the rest of the Cullens except Jasper...
Jasper has been on a hunting trip for awhile and he happens to come back on that same day that Alice and Bella are there. As Jasper walks through the door he almost looses it at the smell of Alice's blood.Her blood gets to him the most, especially since he's new to the vegetarian life and Emmett has to take him up to Edwards room and have Edward explain the whole thing to Jasper.Bella comes back down and the tension goes away slowly.
Jasper begins to fall for Alice, but knows there is a chance that he could kill her.Jasper isnt the only one with his eyes on Alice, Jacob Black also has a thing for her. First it started off with Bella, but she pushed him away. Now hes onto Alice and Alice likes him too. Jasper feels an emotion that he has never felt so strong in his life, jealousy.

The Volturi are curious on how their "friends, the Cullens, are doing. It has been so long since they last heard from them and the Volturi are still set on getting Edward to join them. Aro decides to send Jane to Forks to watch the Cullens for a bit, what Aro doesn't know is that the family is having some issues themselves.
Jane goes to Forks and notices that the Cullens arent really themselves, Edward seems to be happier than he usually is and Jasper is keeping to himself more and more. Jane soon finds out why, the two have fallen in love with human girls, the only thing is the boys dont know if they can control themselves around them. Edward seems to be doing fine, but Jasper is having the most trouble with it.
Wanting to know more, Jane goes and watches the two girls a little and learns more about them. With all the information she has collected, Jane goes back to Italy and tells Aro. Aro wants to know more about these girls so he sends Jane back for more information. He wants more information about the girl named Alice, the one Jasper is after. Jane soon learns that Alice is falling for a werewolf named Jacob. A love triangle is forming.
